FAQs

What is Room Theory?

Room Theory is a team of interior designers that believe curating your home should be easy. We’ve wrapped the price of curation, product and shipping into one complete package. This takes the guess work out of furnishing your home and can make it happen for you within a matter of clicks.

What is the process like?

Processes are over-rated.  Room Theory allows you to ditch the process.  Shop our site of pre-curated rooms, measure your space for fit, put it in your cart, hit the purchase button and we’ll deliver designer curated furnishings to your home in a fraction of the time.  For some large items our carrier will even help you with unpacking and minor assembly upon delivery. Then, all that’s left to do is put your furniture in place and make it your own.

Is it okay to mix and match collections between rooms?

We use a collection naming system to ensure pieces between rooms work seamlessly together in your home.  Our preference is always to pair rooms within the same collection, but we're also rule breakers, so if you want to mix and match, we say go for it!  Just make sure everything still fits, especially if you choose to mix accent collections with a room set that is of a different name.

What kind of quality can I expect from your sets?

All sets currently listed on our site are high-end sets.  They are great for those who are looking to invest in furniture that will last for the long haul. You can expect beautifully detailed pieces made of high quality solid materials and veneers.

As we expand our collections we will start including more value based sets.  If you're not currently finding a collection that works within your budget sign up for our newsletter to get updates on new additions in a greater range of price points.

Do you offer financing?

Room Theory does not currently offer financing but will be in the near future.  Check back at a later date if you'd like to finance your sets.

Are the sets on your site always the same?

The collections on our site are curated with an overall aesthetic in mind.  We switch up the items in these collection sets depending on what's available.  A specific set may be on our site one day and sold out the next, in which case we may start switching pieces within that set to maintain the collection's aesthetic.  If this is not possible we will completely replace the collection with a new one. If there's a certain item in a set you really love or a collection you can't live without, we recommend purchasing it as soon as possible to avoid missing out.

Where do you source your furniture from?

We source our furniture from all over the world and support many different kinds of artisans both large and small.

What if I want to change one of the pieces in the set or mix and match from different sets?

Room Theory carefully curates all sets to look their best.  We don’t offer modifications to our sets which insures a perfectly curated room every time. This allows you to sit back, relax and not worry about items working together.  Should you require an extra piece within a set, such as an additional dining chair, please reach out to hello@roomtheory.com and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

What if I have a question about one of the pieces in a set?

If you need more information on a specific piece, we provide a detail section within each set.  In addition to all the technical information, we also give detailed descriptions of why we dig the piece and what it feels like to sit on, stand on, sleep on, or whatever you may wish to do with your furniture.  If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, we’d love to tell you more about it!  Please reach out to us with your query at hello@roomtheory.com.

Are finish colors shown in your photos accurate?

All photos on our website are provided directly from the source of the furniture.  While they strive to take photos that accurately convey all aspects of the piece, photos may display differently depending on your screen or printer settings.  The good news is that Room Theory curates these sets in person to ensure all pieces coordinate perfectly, colors and all.  Because of this, there is no reason to worry if the pieces will look good together; even if your computer screen lied to you.  It should be noted that we value variety in our sets and veer away from anything that is too matchy matchy.  Wood tones, textures and color within a set may be varied or mismatched intentionally to provide a more eclectic look.  Natural materials will always have inherent variation, and photos will rarely do them justice.  Mother nature makes them this way, and we dig her aesthetic.
